The People Behind Ecosensya
Different perspectives. One shared love for water.
Ecosensya is a multidisciplinary team of Environmental Management practitioners from diverse industries, academe, working with government, civil society, communities, and the private sector to make nature-based and evidence-based decisions for water.
Through BuWn — Building with Nature, we help turn water challenges into opportunities for greater resilience and Water-Positive Landscapes.

Water connects everything we do.
A Water-Positive Philippines Starts with How We Manage the Rain
The Philippines is a water-rich country, yet many of our communities continue to face water insecurity—from flooding during the wet season to water stress when the rains disappear.
We believe part of the answer begins with a simple question:
Where does the rain go?
Instead of seeing rain only as water to be drained away, we can begin to understand it as a resource—one that can be responsibly retained, stored, recharged, reused, and returned to the landscape while respecting the water needs of ecosystems and downstream communities.
At Ecosensya, we believe it is time to rethink our relationship with water.
Through BuWn — Building with Nature, we work with partners to understand how water moves through landscapes and develop nature-based and evidence-based solutions that strengthen water security, climate resilience, and sustainable land management.
Our ambition goes beyond solving individual water problems. We want to help create Water-Positive Landscapes—communities, farms, developments, and ecosystems that manage water more wisely and build resilience for generations to come.
Bank the Rain. Build Water Savings. Create Water-Positive Landscapes.

How We Work
Research
Understand. Investigate. Build evidence.
We conduct applied and academic research on water, climate, landscapes, and related environmental issues.
Our research supports academic inquiry, policy and decision-making, feasibility and site assessment, project development, and the advancement of Nature-based Solutions.
By combining scientific evidence, field observations, stakeholder knowledge, and systems thinking, we seek to better understand environmental challenges—and generate knowledge that can inform both practice and future research.
Teach
Turn knowledge into action.
We believe knowledge becomes more powerful when it is understood and shared.
Through lectures, workshops, learning programs, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building, we work with government, communities, students, organizations, and companies to make water and environmental science understandable, relevant, and actionable.
Our goal is not simply to teach solutions, but to encourage people to ask better questions, understand natural systems, and make better-informed environmental decisions.
Design
Nature-based & Personalized Site Design
We translate research, evidence, and local knowledge into site-responsive water and landscape solutions.
Guided by our BuWn — Building with Nature approach, we explore how rainwater harvesting, water retention, groundwater recharge, regenerative landscapes, and natural infrastructure can work together to address water challenges and help create Water-Positive Landscapes.
